Melissa Shelton Indicted For Criminal Mischief

A white woman has been indicted for her deplorable behavior towards an interracial couple. Melissa Shelton, 29 of Marion, Texas, was recently indicted by a Grand Jury on a charge of criminal mischief between $2,500 and $30,000 for busting out the windows of a car owned by Jason and Victoria Chapa.

The Chapas were shopping for homes in Shelton’s neighborhood and called police after they spotted the rancid racist vandalizing their car. The Chapas added that Shelton called them “n***rs” and “spics” who “couldn’t afford the house they showed interest in.”

According to a police report obtained by TheRoot, Shelton and her companion, a man named Mason Mycue, told deputies that they had just arrived home when the Chapas approached and accused them of vandalizing their car.

When Mycue realized that Shelton had been caught in the act however he offered to pay for the broken windows and was not indicted on charges.

Attorney S. Lee Merritt who represents the Chapas told TheRoot that minorities deserve equal protection and the U.S. needs to enforce hate crime legislation.

“Incidents like this act of terrorism and intimidation are common tactics used since segregation was deemed unconstitutional by the United States Supreme Court in 1948,” Merritt said. “Law enforcement plays a pivotal role in enforcing the law, a duty the Marion Police Department has been decidedly derelict in upholding in this case. If hate crime legislation, discrimination statutes, and basic law and order is to mean anything, we must demand equal protection under the law for all citizens.”

Agreed, rancid racists like Melissa Shelton need to be held accountable.
