Amber Guyger Indicted For Murder In Botham Jean Shooting
The former Dallas officer who gunned down Botham Jean in his own apartment has been indicted. CBS 11 reports that a grand jury has indicted Amber Guyger for murder in the September 6 shooting death.
As previously reported Dallas Police Chief U. Renee Hall had already terminated her for “engaging in adverse conduct” when she was charged with manslaughter.
This comes after local D.A. John Creuzot said he wanted Guyger to be charged with murder instead of manslaughter.
Local media outlets have requested copies of the 911 call Guyger made after the shooting. So far the Dallas PD has declined to provide the call and sent the open records requests to the attorney general for final determination.
This is a big win—for now. Let’s see how things go when the trial starts.
