It’s awards season! And we’re voting for everyone Black!
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced Thursday its nominees for the 2019 Golden Globes. Films that featured a Black cast included Green Book that led in nominations with five. BlacKkKlansman, Black Panther, and If Beale Street Could Talk also received nods. Hit the flip to see all the Black nominations.
Black Panther – Best Motion Picture, Drama
Barry Jenkins – Best Screenplay. Jenkins was nominated for his adaptation of James Baldwin’s If Beale Street Could Talk.
King earned the nod for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk. She also received a nomination for Best Actress in a Limited-Series or TV Movie for her role in Netflix’s Seven Seconds.
Donald Glover – Best Actor in a TV Series, Comedy. Glover was nominated for his role on his FX series, Atlanta
Mahershala Ali – Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture. Ali was nominated for his role in Green Book. The film also scored nominations for Best Director and Best Screenplay, with Viggo Mortensen picking up a Best Actor nod.
If Beale Street Could Talk – Best Motion Picture, Drama. Barry Jenkins and Regina King also picked up nominations for the film based on James Baldwin’s novel.

Thandie Newton – Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Limited-Series, or TV Movie. Newton was nominated for her role in Westworld.
BlacKkKlansman – Best Motion Picture, Drama. Also John David Washington – Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama.
Pose – Best Television Series, Drama. Billy Porter also received a nomination for his role in the series.
Spike Lee – Best Director. Lee earned the nomination for BlacKkKlansman.
Stephan James – Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Drama. James landed a nomination for his role in Amazon’s Homecoming
