Black Pre-Med Student Has Police Called On Him In New Mexico Store

Another day, another benign activity that Black folks can’t do without a law enforcement presence.

According to KOAT, a pre-med student at Xavier University, Jordan McDowell, had the police called on him after he walked into an Allsup’s in New Mexico to cop some snacks.

In a cellphone video recorded by McDowell, an Allsup’s employee is seen telling McDowell to leave. ” I want him out of the store right now,” the woman says. “He’s just being arrogant because he’s black.”

Oh, bih…

“I have an arrogant kid inside the store, cause he’s walking the store and walking the store, and we’re keeping an eye on him, now he thinks we’re being racist and I want him out of the store right now,” the woman is heard saying in a 911 call.

Jordan probably didn’t “think” you’re being racist, he likely KNEW you were being racist. When the cops arrived, Jordan explained what happened and was allowed to leave without further incident. The ACLU had this to say:

“We have to send a clear signal that it’s not OK,” ACLU of NM legal director Leon Howard says. “It’s a disturbing phenomenon in our country when you see people of color, oftentimes black people, having the police called on them for doing everyday things, just having the police called on them for doing everyday things, for just existing in public space.”

F**k Allsup’s, straight like that.
