Ex-NFL Player Allegedly Kills Girl After Instances Of Forcing Her To Exercise

A five-year-old child tragically lost her life in Las Vegas and now some disturbing details have surfaced surrounding her death.

According to News 3, La’Rayah Davis died from multiple blunt force injuries and her mother, Amy Taylor, is being accused of child abuse and neglect. Meanwhile, her mother’s boyfriend, ex-NFLer Cierre Wood, is being charged with murder. Davis was found unresponsive at her mother’s home last Tuesday, and Taylor could also face murder charges, according to a Friday court hearing.

An arrest report revealed that Wood forced the little girl to exercise at home as punishment because he believed the child was overweight.

Police mentioned that Wood would “make her run sprints in the apartment, do sit-ups and wall squats.”

Wood told officers that he was “trying to get her on the right path due to her being chunky.”

An autopsy showed the extent of the child’s injuries. The Clark County Coroner’s report mentioned that the girl had “multiple rib fractures.”

The report also concluded that “the age of the rib fractures is unknown” and “liver laceration was the probable cause of her demise.”

Cops said the girl’s mom once sat on her chest and stomach as a way of punishment, and the autopsy showed that the girl’s “skull had multiple contusions.”

A child fatality disclosure form from the Division of Child and Family Services proved that Child Protective Services had one complaint about the kid’s mother in December 2018. However, a spokesperson for Clark County said the complaint didn’t indicate any neglect or abuse.

A memorial for Davis was held on Saturday at a park in Sonora, California.

“Anytime you take her anywhere, she’d just bring joy. Joy to the party, just make people smile,” said Michael Cambin, a friend of the family.

According to relatives, La’Rayah split her time between California and Nevada. Her mom lived in an apartment in the west side of Las Vegas. The girl’s father, Danaun Davis, lives in Central California.

“She had so many people that she touched, and she’s only five. Her not to be alive and how much life she had. That’s the tragic thing about it,” said Danaun Davis. “She can’t be there no more. I can’t call her no more. Never thought I’d bury my child at five years old.”
