Uno is one of the staples of black hangouts across the country. From cookouts to kickbacks and everything in between, you are likely to see black folks gathered around a table playing. You’re also just as likely to see us gathered around a table arguing over the rules. Despite the face there is a handy slip of paper that comes with every deck explaining said rules, we have a knack for coming up with our own.
One of those timely made-up rules is the belief that you can stack Draw 2 cards on top of Draw 4 cards to make some unsuspecting player draw 6…or more. For some reason the good folks at Uno decided to clarify the rule and, boy, did things take a turn for the worst. Their explanation of their own rules ended up getting their own game dragged.
We really love us, man.
