In a new episode of Drunk History, Lisa Bonet plays a dynamic and inspiring woman named Mary Ellen Pleasant who was nothin’ nice when it came to her coin.
Pleasant was a former slave, a very light-skinned one, who amassed significant wealth (she was RICH, rich) then used her fortune to fight on behalf of her people’s freedom as an abolitionist.
