A History Of Michael Jordan's Outfits From Iconic To Disastrous
Be Like Mike: Michael Jordan’s Fashion Evolution From 80s Fashion Icon To Baggy Pants Disaster
Michael Jordan is undoubtably one of the biggest icons to ever exist in sports. Definitely in all of entertainment. He is one of the elite legends in any era. He’s dominated the past 30 years with swag, charisma and style. Well, okay, the style part is maybe a bit questionable.
The Last Dance documentary by ESPN is highlighting Jordan (and the Chicago Bulls’) legendary 90s run. We are also getting flashbacks of the fashion evolution of MJ. In the 80s he was young and fly. In the 90s he was sophisticate with some off-court Nike drip. The 2000s?
Uh.
Well.

Michael Jordan was a pretty understated fashionable man in college. He was just some kid from North Carolina and still had a bit of a drawl in his accent, but he was absolutely in a very reasonable bag, looking like a model but in understated fits.

This pic became quite iconic for Sports Illustrated. MJ with another polo fit, holding an umbrella and looking absolutely fly. Again, looking comfortable in his fits and not doing too much. This is classic.

Another college fit from MJ. He rocked the hell out of some leather all through his early years. This time a brown leather jacket while next to his buddy and teammate Sam Perkins. Absolutely classic.

We’re mostly focusing on off-the-court Jordan fits but this iconic rookie year drip from the slam dunk competition is unforgettable. MJ went out there in gold chains and banned Jordans. Whoo.

This is early 90s MJ. 1992 to be exact. He wore this fit around Barcelona during the Olympics and it’s classic 90s. Bright colors, everything you can ask for from the era.

Not everything was a hit for MJ. Here he was in 1993 throwing out the opening pitch for the White Sox. He went with a damn denim head-to-toe fit that we still can’t quite understand.

MJ in the 90s was all about suits. His suits were tailored, perfectly fitting and his unique style. He showed up at every game suited and booted. It was head and shoulders above everyone else.

This is casual 90s MJ drip. When he wasn’t rocking his suits he was super casual and Nike from head to toe. Very understated.

Things fell off in the 2000s and a lot of it has to do with MJ’s denim size. Dude was wearing full on jeans that could fit two MJ legs in one pant. He just didn’t stop with these pants. WTF.

Even when MJ had the exclusive drip on the feet, in this case the Travis Scotts, he looked like someone’s drunk uncle. WTF is this even? How did this happen?
Michael Jordan has Clothes That Fit!? Hanging Around Rappers ?! 2020 is weird pic.twitter.com/5C8DoXxg71

2020 gave us some hope. MJ was hanging out with his buddy Fat Joe and was wearing a fit that, well, fits. That’s a miracle. Maybe 2020 is the most bizarre year ever simply because MJ found some clothes that make sense.
