The Story Behind Dennis Rodman And Toni Braxton's "Relationship"

If you’re like us then you’re glued to your TVs watching every second of the ESPN The Last Dance documentary. Sunday’s documentary showed us the craziness that was Dennis Rodman’s career. We learned that he asked to go on a bender in the middle of the 1998 to Vegas do party and drink with his bae Carmen Electra (who still looks like a million bucks). During the montage of his escapades, we saw pics of women he was running around with back in the day.

One of those women was Toni Braxton. The pic had the whole internet shocked. They didn’t know Dennis smashed Toni’s cakes to smithereens. Well, hold your horses. There’s more to the story than meets the eye, including Toni’s response.

This is how it all started. During The Last Dance documentary, the internet noticed pics of Dennis and Toni from his heyday, which made everyone assume they were dating. After all, he did have quite a long list of prime women on his arm through the decade from Carmen Electra to Vivica Fox and more. But Toni Braxton? This had everyone shocked.

Toni saw the pics resurface and was quick to dispel the notion that they “dated.” We get that, but some thought it was quite a careful bit of phrasing.

“IEven though @dennisrodman was kinda hot in the 90s, I never dated Dennis Rodman. We were at the VMAs. #TheLastDance”

As we know now, Braxton is in a very serious relationship with Birdman. While that union had us all very confused, her dating Rodman first seems to make it make more sense.

“Toni Braxton dated Rodman and Birdman at two separate points of her life. We need a 30 for 30 on her”

So where are the pics from? Well they’re from the 13th annual MTV Video Music Awards. Back in 1996, Dennis was in his second year as a Chicago Bull and enjoying a championship. He was shooting his shot off the court too and that’s how this seemed to happen.

Regardless of the rumor killer, this still made Dennis look like a million bucks. This is quite the notch in the NBA player’s belt if there ever was one.

At the same time as that clip was hitting the net, Toni Braxton’s run-in with Oprah over her spending was resurfacing. It was all to point out how some of Oprah’s interviews weren’t the best.

We feel like this is important to mention, too. Toni Braxton looks as good 24 years after that VMA red carpet moment with Dennis as she did back then. Wow.

Seriously. Great goodness. She has aged a smidge better than Dennis has we’ll say that for sure. God bless you, Toni.
