The Chicago native has been released from the hospital after once being in dire straits, and on a ventilator due to the virus.

“First and foremost I would like to thank God and the incredible team of doctors and nurses at Northwestern Memorial Hospital for saving my life. I will be forever grateful,” Jeremih said in a statement released by his family. “I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their prayers and well wishes. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. A special thanks to Chance The Rapper, 50 Cent and Diddy for their love and support.

The 33-year-old artist’s battle with Covid-19 was made public by close friend and collaborator Chance The Rapper back in November after he sent out a tweet asking for prayers for the “Don’t Tell ‘Em” singer.

“Please if you can take a second to pray for my friend Jeremih, he is like a brother to me and he’s ill right now. I believe in the healing power of Jesus so if you can for me please please say a prayer over him,” The “Acid Rap” artist wrote at the time.

50 Cent also asked fans to show their support.

“Pray for my boy @jeremih he’s not doing good this covid shit is real he’s in ICU in Chicago,” he tweeted.

In a statement, a representative explained at the time of Jeremih’s condition worsening that it was “rare for a young man his age without underlying conditions.”

“Everyone diagnosed with Covid-19 is affected differently. Unfortunately for Jeremih, Covid-19 viciously attacked his body,” the representative shared.

Jeremih finished off his statement by thanking his fans for showing love during is rough recovery.

“I would also like to thank all my fans and people around the world who prayed for me. I’m getting stronger everyday, and look forward to spending time with my sons.”

We’re so happy about this news. It was looking pretty scary for Jeremih for a minute there.
