Beverly Johnson was on hand to share her experience of abuse within the industry as part of a conversation around models rights which preceded the presentation for the Positive Social Influences Award, which went to Sara Ziff, the founder of The Model Alliance.

We’re super excited about all the inclusivity at this year’s CFDAs and really wanted to make sure you knew about Aurora James advocating for Black owned businesses by founding the Fifteen Percent Pledge. The CFDAs honored her with the Founders Award in Honor of Eleanor Lambert (Vogue’s Anna Wintour presented her with the award!)

“I am over the moon to receive this award; it means so much. The amount of emotional capital that I spent over the past 18 months working on the Fifteen Percent Pledge and that my whole organization spent relentlessly day in and day out fighting for economic equality—it just feels so incredible to be acknowledged in this way for all the hard work that we’ve done,” she said.
