During Usher’s 18 months at Dolby Live — Park MGM, he proved why he’s one of your favorite artists’ favorite artists. The “OMG” singer left Issa Rae, Taraji P. Henson, HER, and notoriously, Keke Palmer swooning. Yet, when Usher singled out longtime friend Mary J. Blige, she was seemingly immune.

As usual, the next Super Bowl Halftime Show star laid on the charm as he entered the audience. When the band started up “There Goes My Baby,” he dedicated the ballad to Mary and seemingly started to troll her.

“Ooh, Mary! Ooh, Mary, y’all know I got a thing for older women, now! Yes, I do! I saw you over here looking so fabulous. See, they gave you a lot of love. I just want to get closer,” Usher sang, hitting his angelic falsetto.

He couldn’t keep a straight face when he tried to put a hand on Mary’s thigh-high boot, and she comedically curved him. They both cracked up but continued going back and forth as he launched into the song.

Mary swatted his hand away from her leg before he jokingly tried to caress her face. The soulful singers got a good laugh at the unserious serenade as the crowd sang along to the last line.

“I love you, Mary,” he said after easing up. She returned the love as they embraced. The hilarious moment went viral, with fans laughing at Mary keeping the exchange a “Family Affair.”
