Dwyane Wade returned to Miami for his statue unveiling which grabbed attention because it looked like someone else completely.
The Miami Heat finally cemented Dwyane Wade for his iconic run with the Miami Heat with a bronze statue. Adding to the excitement was that he would be the first Heat player in history with a statue outside the Kaseya Center. During his tenure, Wade earned 13 NBA All-Star selections, three championship titles, and the Heat record for points, assists, and games played.
All of these factors made the stakes high for the Heat and Sculptors to deliver, and unfortunately, when the statue was revealed an immediate awkwardness took over the crowd. The statue, which commemorated the baller’s iconic “This is my house” moment from the Heat’s 2009 double-overtime win against the Chicago Bulls, looked nowhere near identical to Dwyane Wade.
Upon further examination, the only accurate part might have been the Heat logo on his jersey.
As Dwyane Wade placed his eyes upon the statue you could see the indifference in his eyes and energy. The statue was so bad while on the mic he addressed the elephant in the room with “Who is this guy” prompting laughs.
Everyone at the unveiling kept it respectful and classed however social media immediately meme’d his statue to oblivion. This moment finally lets Cristiano Ronaldo’s statue can finally rest and move to #2 worst statues of all time.
