Reality star Tyler Francis is speaking out about his Love Is Blind sperm donor drama that’s made him the ongoing subject of criticism. In a new interview that he calls his “one and only,” the openly absentee father of three said he was tired of being a “tip-toe dad” to the kids as their mother kept bringing him in and out of their lives. Not only that, but his wife, Ashley Adionser, is blasting fellow Christians who are urging her to leave her husband.

On Wednesday, Tyler spoke on the “sperm donor” revelation he made in episode 9 of the show, which nearly threatened to end his engagement to Ashley on Love Is Blind’s D.C. season.
While a guest on the Dear Future Wifey podcast, Tyler went into great detail with host Laterras R. Whitfield about initially helping “a friend and her wife start a family” by donating sperm and “voluntarily” stepping in to assist with the children when the wife left—only to be pushed out when the couple reconciled.
Tyler explained that he and his friend, Bri Thomas, the mother of his children, had an exceptionally close bond.
“We hung out almost every other day. She was just one of the homies—super cool,” he said. When Bri and her wife decided to have a child together, they encountered challenges with sperm donor banks, which charged significant fees for specific attributes like race, height, and education.
“They couldn’t afford it,” said Tyler on Dear Future Wifey. “So I was like, look, I’ll help y’all out.”
Using an at-home insemination kit, Francis donated his sperm, enabling the couple to start their family.
Tyler told Dear Future Wifey that Bri was adamant that she wanted the kids to be raised in a two-parent household with two moms, so he respected her wishes until she brought him back into their lives after a breakup with her wife.
That’s when Tyler said he stepped into the father figure role for the kids for “about six months” by doing tasks like picking them up from daycare, which was easy because he and Bri lived in the same building. Still, he told Dear Future Wifey that he still didn’t feel connected to the kids, two twin girls, and a boy, saying at one point he felt like a “glorified babysitter.”
“This is very controversial, people are going to hate to hear it, [but] I still didn’t have that connection,” said Tyler. “In my heart, I was helping someone, so I had already detached from them, and I wasn’t around for all these steps.”
At another point in the show, Tyler emphasized that feeling of disconnect, telling Dear Future Wifey that he wants “that family” to leave him alone.
“I want them to have their family and leave me alone, that’s honestly what I want,” said Tyler. “I wouldn’t wanna be attached to that family, not the kids per say, because again, innocent kids, beautiful kids–but they come with everyone else.”
According to Tyler, who brought receipts on his phone to share about the situation, the children’s mother, Bri Thomas, and her mother are also after his money for child support.
“I was just a come-up, and you were just waiting to cash out,” alleged Tyler before calling the mother of his kids a clout chaser. “It’s a money thing, if you’re okay with your family and what you have going on you would be like, Tyler walked away—I don’t wanna have anything to do with it.”
However, he did not explicitly state whether or not the twins with Bri were conceived naturally, as has been alleged online.
Amid the release of the interview, Tyler’s wife, Ashley, has spoken out, blasting marriage critics who encourage her to leave her spouse.
Hit the flip for that.
A very fed-up Ashley recently shared InstaStories blasting detractors who’ve “heartbreakingly” encouraged her to leave Tyler.

According to Ashley, she would never leave someone in their time of need, and just because the public hasn’t seen her reprimand Tyler in public, it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened in private.
“The love y’all saw on the show was real. I love deeply,” wrote Ashley. “So, having my love story berated and criticized by society has been an indescribable feeling. Heartbreaking really! I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. So, to write in these comments and tell me to leave my husband because y’all said so, like emotions and feelings can be lost at the drop of a dime, is insanity. All while the entire world (it feels) is beating him (and me) up on a daily, it is nowhere near how I operate in love. And never will. I wouldn’t even leave my friends during their time of need. Whether they’re right or WRONG!!! I’d hate to be y’alls friends. Being solid and holding someone down when they are at their latest doesn’t mean you’re enabling behavior. But how I reprimand him or the things we talk about in our household is NOT anyone’s business.”
In another post, she added:
“I am trying to love like Christ. And it AIN’T easy. Y’all can mock that however you want.”
She went on to condemn Christians, pushing people further away from Christ.
“I’m a TRUE believer in Christ which means I am who HE says I am. Anything I choose to do next will be based on what JESUS & ASHLEY wants. (More of him less of me) Not the opinions of others. That’s the last thing I’ll say on this.”
Tyler Francis Defended His Wife Ashley On The Dear Future Wifey Podcast
Speaking of Ashley, at one point on the Dear Future Wifey podcast, Tyler told fans to leave his wife alone and go after him instead of her for his actions.

“I’ve said it multiple times—attack me, not my wife. She had nothing to do with the situation,” said Tyler” “Ashley doesn’t condone leaving kids. She doesn’t condone abandoning anyone. She loves all her nephews and is such a loving person.”
He also denied that Ashley’s been complicit and said that she’d checked him behind closed doors.
“What people don’t understand—or maybe they do and just don’t want to—is that she checks me for things, absolutely. That’s what a wife does,” he explained. “But she won’t drag me in front of cameras, and I wouldn’t do that to her either.”
Tyler also addressed a text that was exposed of him saying Ashley was “not his type.”
Hit the flip for that.

At another point in the interview, Tyler also addressed a text he sent to Bri Thomas saying that Ashley wasn’t his type.

According to Tyler, he previously dated light-skinned women but lucked out by meeting his drop-dead gorgeous, Godly wife.
“Everyone knows that I’ve had a type, right?” said Tyler. “[Light skin] that’s what I used to date all the time, but what I want to be clear is Ashley’s beauty–I’ve never not told Ashley that she’s beautiful. She’s gorgeous, drop-dead gorgeous, so I lucked out.”
He continued,
“So my thing with saying, not my type was, she’s not someone I usually dated–but her personality? Ten times, better than what I’ve dated, her soul, the way she brings God out of me–I have my wife and she’s beautiful and it played in my favor.”
Despite the drama, Tyler also emphasized that he still has the approval of Ashley, her mother, and her grandmother.
“What you saw on TV—that was entertainment. But now, this is real life.”
He also admitted that he’s still sorting through his feelings about the situation, and Dear Future Wifey host Laterras Whitfield urged him to lean on God for understanding.
As you can imagine, people have a lot to say about Tyler’s interview, and the Love Is Blind star is encouraging people not to rush to judgment.
“I am not perfect and i know this won’t change a lot of peoples mind about me. I ask that you just listen,” wrote Tyler in the Dear Future Wifey podcast comments.
