Cam Newton Is Taking His Talents To The NFL….Heisman Trophy Winner Is Draft-Bound

- By Bossip Staff

Cam said “eff that I’m getting the hell on”:

Cam Newton, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback who led Auburn to the national championship, will enter the NFL Draft.

“This decision was difficult for me and my family,” Newton said. “It’s been a blessing for me to be a part of something so great. Any time you win games it’s a big deal, but for this school to win a BCS national championship, what a way to make people happy. Auburn is a special place that I can call home.”

In Newton’s only season as a major college starter, Auburn went 14-0 and beat Oregon in the national championship game Monday night. Newton led Blinn College to a junior college national championship, too.

What are your thoughts on Cam’s decision??

Jamarcus Russell all over again…Atleast my Raiders dont have a top pick to waste on him

  • ED

He is not ready for the NFL quarterback position unless he is willing to sit for at least 2 years to develop.

At some point it would have been nice to see the guy be a student.

  • FresHHeir

This kids crazy! Its obvious he’s gonna be taking a HUGE pay cut going to the NFL

  • DR.FUNK

He’ll probably hold the clip board for a coupla’ years…but there’s some potential there.Reminds me of JaMarcus Russell…only with some sense of work ethic. If the league goes on strike this year-that does’nt really hurt his development.

  • stef

i say great for him…hopefully he’s ready cause the pro’s are a whole different animal

  • Willie Lump Lump

How does a guy win the SEC Championship, the BCS Championship and the Heisman and people are saying he needs to develop more for the NFL?

If he were a white boy the NFL scouts and reporters would be salivating at the smell of his farts.

Every rookie in the league is unproven and that’s why they are rookies.

Let a white boy have his stats and accolades and he would be the biggest threat to a defending Superbowl team.

      what about tebow?

  • AuburnGrad

    I agree w/Willie Lump.

What’s the point of going back to college? The NFL is every college FB players dream and he has the chance to live that dream. He’s exceeded expectations at Auburn and I wish him the best at the next level.

And whoever is comparing him to JaMarcus Russell is a fool. There is no comparison. That’s an insult to Cam Newton, his amazing athletic abilities and work ethic.

I like him. He’s a great player and he’s smart. An overall good boy. I don’t see anything wrong with him entering the draft though. He has shown and proved to the world that he’s hungry. He deserves to get paid for continuing to play his heart out. He’s no different than young boys like John Wall, just trying to eat and do something good with themselves and their lives. Go on, Cam. As a people we need to stop hating and start supporting our young boys (and even girls) doing our race proud.

  • don't ask

Cam is a good QB but not a GREAT QB and in my opinion not ready for the NFL. He should finish his education anyway because all of them are just one injury away from extinction. As far as the women, he will have to make the decision for himself. Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, Michael Vick to name a few have not gone white. It is not a given that our male atheletes will loose their minds over white skin. And if they do, so be it. That’s their choice.
