Who can’t appreciate a little charitable vanity?

Despite owning a small stake in the Nets, the hip-hop mogul has partnered with luxury charity auction site charitybuzz.com to give two deep-pocketed fans a chance to join him courtside at an upcoming Knicks game at the Garden.

Maybe Hova can’t get enough of newly minted Knick Carmelo Anthony, or maybe he’s keeping it local because proceeds from the package (valued at $20,000) will benefit NYC’s Stephen Gaynor School, which helps kids with learning disabilities reach their academic potential. The auction runs through March 30 at the website.

The bidding started Monday at noon and is currently at $3,250; bids are accepted in $250 increments. The fine print on this prize is chuckle-worthy though. Per CharityBuzz.com:

Valid for 2 people to sit courtside at a 2011-2012 Knicks game with Jay-Z. Subject to scheduling and availability, to take place at a time convenient to Jay-Z’s schedule. Date to be determined by Jay-Z’s schedule and once a date is set it cannot be changed. Winner is subject to a background check.

SMH. Would you pay to “maybe” get a chance to sit next to Camel at the Garden?? And would you be doing it to kick it with him, to watch the Knicks courtside, or to support a good cause?
