Congratulations, Earth: Our Population Is Now 7 Billion People!

The world’s population hit a landmark number today.

The population is growing at an alarming rate and we’ve already reached seven billion people according to various UN reports today. This has some environmentalists concerned about our role on Earth and how we’ll evolve and change as we approach our next billion. The United Nations is predicting as many as 50 million environmental refugees by 2020.

So, while this is a landmark day for the country, it should remind us to take care of the planet and the environment. And we’re not ignoring the fact that this happened on Halloween. End of days omen? You be the judge.
