Chinese Newborn Rescued From Sewage Pipes After Being Abandoned

SMH. What is the world coming to? We’d hate to stereotype, but we’re starting to think Chinese parents are the most heartless.

A newborn Chinese baby was rescued from a toilet pipe after he was flushed away by his parents, state TV reports.

The tiny boy was found lodged in a sewage pipe — in a block of apartments in Jinhua, Zhejiang province — on Saturday afternoon after neighbors reported hearing crying.

His placenta was still attached.

Firefighters had to remove the pipe and take it to a nearby hospital, where doctors cut around it to pull out the abandoned infant.

The 2-day-old is now in care and said to be in a stable condition.

Cops are now hunting for the baby’s parents.

The incident has sparked outrage on China’s Twitter-like service Sina Weibo, reports ABC.net.au.

“The parents who did this have hearts even filthier than that sewage pipe,” wrote one user.

We’re just glad that the rescuers were successful in saving that innocent little boy’s life! We pray they’ll find a good home for him where he’ll be able to lead a healthy and happy normal life.
