Kirk Franklin comes clean about what was behind his dirty lil habit and opens up about his disturbing childhood

Kirk Franklin Says Sister’s Sex Assault Triggered Adult Film Addiction

Gospel singer Kirk Franklin may appear to have always been on the straight and narrow prior to confessing his addition to freaky flicks years ago, but in a recent Shade 45 radio interview on “Sway In The Morning”, Kirk made a few more bombshell revelations about his rough upbringing and how it shaped the not-so-good choices he made as an adult.

On his difficult upbringing and what led him to change his life:
“I was adopted when I was 4 by a 64-year old lady and we were raised up in really difficult times. Standing in line getting the block cheese, getting the tough jeans and everything. I had a sister that had a real bad drug problem and she spent over a decade in prision….and pr*stit*tion…and so, you know we, we lived that life. And it was a difficult life.

When I was 15 , my dude got killed and when he got killed, that’s when I got closer to faith and developed my own relationship with the Lord. But, we still lived there,, and so at 17 I got a young lady pregnant and dropped out of school. For about a couple of years, was sleeping in the car and you know, kinda got into a little bit of trouble…had to spend some nights locked down. So, while my faith life is the thing that changed me, I still didn’t change who I was as far as how I look or talk because I don’t think that that’s what people should do. God looks at the character of your hearts [and not how you look or talk.]

This guy has one drama-filled backstory! Hit the flip to hear Kirk reveal what led to him to become addicted to freaky flicks…

On his freaky-flick addiction:
“When I was a kid there was some abusive stuff that kinda happened in our family when I was a little boy. My little sister- there was some [forced sex] and some things that happened in our family and there were some ugly images that we got introduced to as kids around the age of 8. And so from about the age of eight to about the age of twenty nine I struggled with that. Just not only p*r*ography but also being very promiscuous.”

Say what you will about Kirk Franklin, but he’s definitely an open book when it comes to sharing his own struggles. And this was just the beginning.
