Ex-NBA Star Larry Johnson Gets Bankruptcy Tossed - Still Owes Baby Mama

The ex-NBA star explained that he no longer needs bankruptcy relief with the battle with Tate being settled, and said that the majority of his debts will be paid off to Tate through their settlement. Johnson said his accountant is working on an offer to the IRS to settle his tax debt and he plans on working out a deal with a law firm he owes $12,000 to.

Johnson said the reason he filed for bankruptcy was to protect the home – where Tate and his daughter live – from being sold off and to settle the debt he owed his baby mama. He stated that dismissing his bankruptcy will be in both his creditors and his best interest and he will continue paying his other child support payments and if any creditor has any issue they can sue him in state court.

Then on January 4th, the federal court judge came back and granted Johnson’s motion to dismiss the case without wiping his debt clear. The order states that the ex-NBA star will pay $650 for court costs and will have to handle his other debts on his own without the protection of the bankruptcy court.
