Gabrielle Union’s Dating Advice Gets Blasted
Gabrielle Union whose marriage to Dwyane Wade is many people’s “goals”, recently got OBLITERATED on Twitter after an interview of hers went viral.
Gabby recently chatted with The Grio about her role as a divorcee in “Almost Christmas” and when asked what it takes to find love again, she offered this tidbit about dating outside your “type.”
“If your type hasn’t worked for you in 40 years, guess what? Your type sucks!” said Union. “Time to change your type. Think outside the box! Maybe they’re younger, maybe they’re older, maybe they don’t come in the shape or size or color that you assume they would come in.
“But there’s so many dope people out there that if you open yourself up and get out of your own way, you’re going to have a lot of options. A lot more options than you think.”
Omar Epps, her romantic interest in the film, also added in a tidbit about his decade-long marriage to his wife Keshia.
“By liking, keeping it innocent,” Epps told The Grio. “Like I said, I still like my girl — of course I love her and I’m in love with her, but I like her as a person. I’m still discovering her and us and it’s still fresh for me.”
But it was Gabby’s words that reaaaally peeved some people off, especially folks who questioned how a woman whose significant other had an outside child, could dish out relationship advice.
