Colin Kaepernick Speaks On His Support Of Some Of Fidel Castro’s Policies In Cuba

Colin Kaepernick has been the biggest story of this luke-warm NFL season. His social commentary about #BlackLivesMatter and the criminal justice system in America has made him a hero to some and a pariah to many others. In that sense, he appears to have a lot in common with the man who has embroiled him in his latest socio-political controversy.

After taking his infamous knee during the national anthem of a preseason game, Kaep wore at t-shirt depicting a meeting between Malcolm X and Castro. Some took that as a sign that the embattled QB was a full-throated supporter of the murderous Cuban dictator.

The 49ers lost 31-24 to the Miami Dolphins, in Miami, where thousands of Cubans have been celebrating Castro’s death. After the game, Kaep spoke to reporters in an attempt to clarify his perceived support of El Comandante’s oppressive practices.

Since news of his death, the subject of Castro has been almost as polarizing as Donald Trump.

What do you think of Fidel Castro? Do you see him as a great leader or a murderous dictator, or both.
