A jewelry company that is suing T.I. for not paying for nearly $1 million in baubles blasted the rapper for his legal maneuvers to try to get out of the alleged debt, BOSSIP has learned.

Jeweler to the stars Aydin & Co sued T.I. in 2015 for breach of contract for blowing off their oral contract, and said he owed some $755,000 for bling he never paid for.

TI denied owing any money to the jewelers, and said that even if he did, the case was barred by the statute of limitations. He’s asked a judge to issue a ruling in his favor ASAP.

The jewelry company said it sold T.I. hundreds of thousands worth of bling from 2004 through 2012. Aydin & Co. said the rapper showered himself and his loved ones in pricey baubles, including $9,500 diamond hoop earrings, a 48-carat diamond chain, two $10,000 custom-made dog tags, a $24,500 women’s diamond bracelet, a $30,000 blue diamond watch, and a $13,500 men’s wedding band. Also listed was $40,000 in “assorted women’s jewelry,” and seven custom made diamond pendants for $145,000, among other items.

Aydin & Co. said T.I. had an open account with the company, and had been making payments until he suddenly stopped in 2013. Company owner Fevzi Aydin said he tried reaching out to T.I.for payment, but to no avail, and that’s when he filed the lawsuit.

T.I. recently asked the judge to bar the jewelers from suing for items sold before 2011, citing the statute of limitations. He also contented that he never got any of the jewelry that Aydin & Co. claims he swindled the company out of, and never actually signed any of the jeweler’s invoices for the jewelry, according to court docs. The rapper said he didn’t even know about the bills until Aydin & Co sued him. T.I. also said the jewelers haven’t produced texts or emails to back up their claims.

The “Whatever You Like” rapper said in an affidavit that his recollection of doing business with Aydin & Co. contradicts the jeweler’s contentions. He said that Aydin & Co. would periodically send him jewelry to look over. If he liked it, they negotiated a price. If he didn’t, he’d return it,

The company wants a jury trial, T.I. to testify and for the judge to dismiss T.I.’s motion for summary judgment in his favor, according to court papers.

The judge has yet to rule on the case.

This isn’t the only legal case that T.I. is battling; his divorce from wife Tiny is still active, even though she told the courts that she hasn’t been able to serve the rapper and no one showed up to a hearing last month.
