Last night’s 2-hour Queen Sugar finale was a tear-jerker and Ava Duvernay’s devoted “sweeties” almost couldn’t deal.

***SPOILERS AHEAD***

Things are still on an upswing for Aunt Vi and Hollywood especially now that Hollywood’s gotten a call from the rig lawsuit lawyer who tells him some amazing news; the company’s settled for triple the amount they originally thought they would.

“We’re rich!” he tells Vi. He then very sweetly aks Vi to marry him, although marriage wasn’t ever originally in their plans, and she gladly accepts.

Later Nova throws them an engagement party and while her siblings Charley and Ralph Angel can’t make it, Charley’s boyfriend Remy shows up solo with a celebratory bottle for the couple.
When the party ends Remy and Nova are seen washing dishes and—-getting waaaay too close. There’s some intense staring shared between them that culminates with a RIDICULOUSLY long hug as though the two of them don’t want their moment to end.

Down, girl.

People peeped the obvious chemistry between the two and they’re wondering why Nova is seemingly pushing up on her sister’s man.

Later Charley and Remy break up after she tells him her grand plan to do business with the enemies, the Landrys and the Boudreauxs.

A gut-wrenching scene between Ralph Angel and Darla finally takes place. After searching for Darla at various dope houses amid fear that she’s relapsed, Ralph Angel finally finds her. She’s healthy and fine and blowing off stress by swimming at a local center.

He tells her he can never trust her, asks her why she didn’t tell him from the start that she wasn’t sure Blue was his son and he ultimately ends things.

He adds however that “Blue is the blood in his veins, even if his blood isn’t in his.”

He ends with this;

Ralph Angel later reiterates the “blood in his veins” line to Blue in a tear-inducing scene where he finally tells his son how he got his name. According to RA, Blue was named after a color like Aunt Violet and also in remembrance of his mother Dru. Furthermore, the color blue represents “everything good” on earth.

“Blue is the sky, blue is the ocean, blue is everything good.”
