SZA’s Debut Ctrl Has Officially Gone Platinum

TDE’s number one lady had been working on Ctrl for years before she finally dropped it in 2017, and now its obvious that hard work and tedious perfecting paid off, because the album is officially certified platinum.

SZA’s debut album was considered a masterpiece by most and shocked everyone (including SZA herself) with just how much radio play and mainstream success she was getting from it. Though the singer was popular among many music lovers before, Ctrl clearly skyrocketed the songstress into a whole other realm–and that’s obvious from the accolades she’s racking up…well, beside being snubbed at the GRAMMYS.

Ctrl finally dropped on June 9, 2017 and now, 9 months later, the album is officially platinum. TDE co-president Terrence “Punch” Henderson tweeted out his excitement and pride about the album reaching this huge milestone, also citing some of the other benchmarks from singles on the project.

SZA herself hasn’t yet commented on the album’s huge achievement, but she’s always super excited about these things so we can probably expect a post soon. Congrats to Solana on reaching such a huge music milestone!
