As we head into the end of 2020, the main thing headed our way is the 2020 election. Anyone with eyes can see that the guy in the White House is trying to steal the election and every vote will count. Voter registration has been a bigger focus than ever before and celebrities such as LeBron James are doing their part to help combat voter suppression.
So, Dwayne Johnson played host to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in a new video, and he gave them the seal of approval, endorsing them to replace Trump/Pence.
The Rock told them … “I have never publicly endorsed a presidential candidate or vice-presidential candidate in my life, over my career. So, I figured let’s kick this conversation off this way, by me officially, publicly endorsing you both to become President and Vice President.”
The Rock singled Senator Harris out at one point, praising her for her career achievements and saying, “In my opinion, you are a certified badass.”
The Jumanji star also put Biden and Kamala to the test to discuss the 2020 election and what Americans want to see from the two potential candidates:
“How will both of you earn the respect of all the American people once you’re in the White House?”, asked the Rock.
Biden was the first to answer, explaining that he and Kamala want to be honest with the public:
“By doing what we say we’re going to do. By keeping our word. By leveling with the American people. By taking responsibility. When we fail, acknowledge it. We’re not going to be perfect, but take responsibility. Say, ‘This is what I’m going to do, this is what I believe and tell the truth.’ That sounds so basic, but the American people are strong, they’re tough, they can take anything if you level with them, and tell the truth,” he said. “And one of the ways we’re going to do it is to demonstrate we mean what we say. Our administration, DJ, is going to look like America. It’s going to be representative of all of America.”
Harris also agreed, and she noted that it’s going to take a long time for Americans to win back the trust of the government after what has happened with COVID-19 devastating families across the U.S.:
“…. That has to be part of the core of what we do as we go forward because to your point, we’re facing as a country so many challenges and people are grieving. I mean, people are grieving the loss of life, the loss of jobs, the loss of certainty, the loss of normalcy and to heal and get through this we’re gonna have to be honest about what healing will require. That’s one of the things that Joe and I really do have in common, which is we’re motivated by healing, but we know to do that, we have to be honest about what it’s going to take.”
The fact that Dwayne has never endorsed a candidate before is shocking but also goes to show just how important this election, in particular, is. Hopefully, his massive fanbase understands the seriousness of the situation and hops on the train to get the White House back in order.
