Fantasia Hospitalized, Experiencing Contractions Six Months Into Pregnancy

Fantasia is asking for her prayer warriors to show up after a medical scare today involving her unborn baby. The pregnant singer recently shared that she has been hospitalized after experiencing contractions, only six months into her pregnancy.

In a video clip shared to her Instagram page, Fantasia made the alarming announcement.

“Good morning. We’ve been in the hospital all day. We have to stay in the hospital for a while. My baby girl thinks she’s missing something out here, but she’s got to stay in there a little longer.

The “Free Yourself” singer let fans know she wasn’t alone in the hospital, panning the camera over to her husband, Kenneth Taylor, who appeared to be sleeping in the hospital room.

“I thank God for my husband. He’s over there knocked out, poor thing! He’s been riding in there with me. My contractions are starting to come down now. My body is just tired, but we’ve got this.”

During an interview with Tamron Hall back in December of last year, the “Free Yourself” singer revealed that she struggled with fertility before being blessed with her soon-to-be bundle of joy.

“At first we thought we were going to have to do different things like everybody was suggesting IVF because it wasn’t happening,” shared Fantasia at the time.

“This is a three-year journey we’ve been on. And then we went back in and I found out that one of my tubes was closed, we went back, and then she says ‘Well now that one’s open the other ones closed,” she continued. “We decided let’s just pause. Let’s let God be God. And if this is something that he wants for us to truly have because my mother brought up the idea…We were both like ‘Let’s just travel, we don’t need more kids, we have grandkids,’ and my mom was like ‘You guys will regret not having a love child.’ So we blame this on her. But we said ‘Let God be God and we’re gonna sit back and just see what happens,’ and truly Tam[ron], I kid you not, I forgot about it.”
