Zola Tongo was convicted of killing Anni Dewani on her honeymoon and sentenced to 18 years in prison, but he claims her murder was not his idea. According to Tongo, a cab driver in Cape Town, South Africa, Anni’s husband, Shrien Dewani, asked him to kill her as soon as they got to their hotel from the airport! What type of sh*t is that?!?!

Tongo said he drove the couple from the airport to their hotel on Nov. 13. Once the wife was out of earshot, the driver said Shrien Dewani asked if he could find someone to kill her. Tongo said Shrien Dewani offered 50,000 rand each (about $7,000), but paid only 1,000 (about $145).

Once Tongo’s confession was read in court, a translator asked in Xhosa whether he understood. Tongo, who stood with his eyes lowered throughout the hearing, said he did – his only comments in court.

The case has drawn wide attention in Britain and in South Africa, where violent crime is high but attacks on foreign tourists are rare.

Say chief, just a quick question, WHY THE HELL DID YOU MARRY THIS LADY IF YOU WANTED TO KILL HER!?!?!? Shouldn’t fleeting feelings of murder been a sign that she wasn’t the one for you?? Apparently you’ve never seen American films, because when the wife ends up dead, 90% of the time the husband did it…smh
