Stop The Violence: 5-Year-Old Shot By Rival Gang-Bangers’ Stray Bullet Outside Of A Bronx Bodega
Must the hood wild’out every summer???
A 5-year-old boy who had gone to a Bronx bodega with his mother to buy milk was shot in the leg last night when a group of gang-bangers opened fire on rivals, cops and witnesses said.
The victim, whose name wasn’t released, was rushed to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.
He and his mom had left the deli on Astor Avenue just after 10 p.m. and walked about 20 yards when bullets started flying.
“Two groups . . . kids with guns, have been going at it for a week,” said a witness who asked that his name not be revealed.
“And what happens? A 5-year-old gets shot.”
He said one of the factions was kids from the neighborhood, the other from the Pelham Parkway Houses.
