We don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but Beyonce may possibly be preggers. But that’s just a minor bit of news we’re sure nobody’s heard of.
It’s pretty amazing that we’ve watched Bey grow from upstart singer to mega star with a kid. But watching it unfold can sometimes make us forget how it all went down. Here’s are all the Bey memories from childhood to just this past Sunday when she showed us the new little seed.
Here’s baby Bey. Who would have thought that she’d grow up to be the star she is now? This was probably the only time she was as broke as the rest of us are. This is also probably when she had started singing lessons and all that, too.
Here’s a slightly older Bey Bey. By this point she’s started doing talent shows and wowing adults. We’re still sure most people that said “we knew she was a star from the beginning” are still full of isht, too.
And here’s middle school Bey, basically she was a full-time performer at this point. The Knowles’ had her on the local performance circuit. Impressive that she was able to stay in school through it all, too.
When Beyonce was in high school, her sweetheart was this guy named Lyndell Locke. They were together for, like, ever, and he was the source for a good chunk of her heartbreak songs. Man, she sure doesn’t pick the hottest guys around.
When the CEO of the Knowles family went out on a recruiting run, he scooped up three more up-and-coming singers to join the fray and form Destiny’s Child. They hit up the Houston talent shows and eventually got signed.
Destiny’s Child had a smash hit when “Bills” dropped. Bey was still playing the back and was just one of the four ladies in the video. However, she was plotting her solo career the whole time! Sneaky Knowles people.
Their debut album topped the charts and solidified them as the new elite female group. They were throwbacks to the days of En Vogue and Total with their own style. They’d stay together forever, right?! RIGHT?!
Not so much. The group got trimmed down to three with Michelle being added to the fray to replace the lost members. While Destiny’s Child was still making waves, everyone had a bad taste in their mouths for the way the whole thing seemed to go down.
The writing was on the wall. Bey was trying to get her Bey conglomerate on the roll and Hollywood was the start. She got to star in Carmen on MTV and was in Austin Powers as Foxy Cleopatra! Yeah, she was terrible but
Hollywood kept calling.
Beyonce kicked her sidekicks to the curb and went on her own solo run. When “Crazy In Love” came out, she was clearly on the way to solo success. Who needed DC after that?
In case you didn’t notice, there was some guy on that song rapping at the end. He was some little known rapper named
Jay-Z. Heard of him? Well, they were also kind of dating at the time. Did you know that?
After the debut, “B-Day” came out and put Bey in a whole other stratosphere. She was easily the most popular R&B star in the world and was excelling to one of the top stars in the world. Not bad for a celebration of her birthday.
Nothing was as big a hit as “Put A Ring On It”. Just look at all the Youtube videos that came out of people replicating the dance. The song only made people wonder when Jigga would finally hit her up with the nuptials. We thought it’d NEVER happen!
Well Jigga finally did it a couple of years ago. He put a ring on it and made it official. Of course, it would still take him a year or so longer before he started actually acknowledging her and their marriage. Yes, he finally put a ring on it.
In early 2009, Beyonce had the most distinctive honor any celebrity has had bestowed on them. She sang the song for the inaugural dance, which is something nobody will be able to take from her. For centuries, this will be something everybody will play back and relive.
After taking a hiatus, Bey dropped her most recent album a few months ago. While the sales weren’t as impressive as her past albums and the quality was iffy, it still blew most anything else out of the water. And with her stunt at the VMAs, you better believe sales are going to only get better.
Finally, we have what happened Sunday. Beyonce, after all the years of success and publicity, she’s finally about to be a mom! It’s a celebration, b****es!
