Babyface gives his two cents on Tracey dating Eddie Murphy and Deion Sanders

Babyface Talks Ex-Wife Tracey Edmonds And Her New Boyfriend Deion Sanders

Veteran music industry exec Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds is the latest Hollyweirder taking his talents the next episode of “Oprah’s Next Chapter.”

Among other things, Oprah got sir Face to open up about his love life, most notably his former relationship with his now ex-wife Tracey Edmonds and their seemingly unbreakable union.

He had this to say in response to their marriage seeming “picture perfect” in the public eye.

We wanted it to look like that. We felt responsible.

[But] the reality is that there was a connection that wasn’t really there. We loved each other but we weren’t really in love with each other. It was more the idea of it falling apart and me holding onto the image of what I thought we were.

I don’t feel like we were supposed to be together forever. I’m okay with it because I think she’s okay.

Wow. 13 years is a looooonng time to be married and “not really be in love,” right? Babyface also revealed how he feels about Tracey previously coupling up with Eddie Murphy and now dating Deion Sanders. Hear what else he had to say on the flip.

On Tracey’s relationship with Eddie Murphy:
I didn’t think it was the best thing. I didn’t know Eddie so, I said to Tracey: ‘It’s your decision.’ It wasn’t for me to step in. But things happened the way they were supposed to happen.

On Tracey dating Deion Sanders:
Deion’s a good guy. Deion did one thing for me, which I thought was the classiest thing in the world.

I’ve given her my opinion on certain things. I knew Deion seemed like a nice guy when he called me and said he didn’t want to meet my children until he sat down with me. So he [could] know me before he met my children. [After that,] I was in.

Tracy is family, so I wanna make sure she’s good.

Despite Tracey’s sometimes questionable choice in men after her marriage to Babyface ended, we have to admit, these two seem to have the whole co-parenting/amicable ex-thing down. Kudos to them.
