Deion Sanders Fired From His Own School For Second Time

Deion Sanders has been fired from the troubled charter school he co-founded for the second time in less than two months.

The reason for Sanders’ dismissal from Prime Prep Academy on Tuesday wasn’t immediately available. Superintendent Rachel Sanders, who made the decision and isn’t related to the ex-football star, could not be reached for comment.

T. Christopher Lewis, Prime Prep’s board chairman, said the firing came as a surprise. Although Rachel Sanders has the authority to make personnel decisions, he said Deion Sanders is a special case.

The football Hall of Famer, who played cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, has been the public face of the school, which adopted his “Prime Time” nickname.

“I did not approve this dismissal nor would I have made that decision,” said Lewis, who described Deion Sanders as a “significant asset to the school.”

The news of Sanders ouster was first reported via Twitter by WFAA-TV (Channel 8). That station said students walked out in protest.

Deion gets fired and the students walk out? No one man should have all that power.

Lewis he expects this issue to be addressed at a board meeting scheduled for Friday. The performance and employment of the superintendent are among the items on the agenda.

“I would imagine some of the board members would want to know the rationale for this firing,” Lewis said.
In October, Deion Sanders was briefly fired after a co-worker accused him of assault. Deion Sanders, who started publicly feuding with co-founder D.L. Wallace, was rehired almost immediately.

Wallace resigned from his post as executive director about two weeks ago.

Clearly there is something shady goin’ on at this “school” when one co-founder quits and the other gets fried, TWICE!

Per usual, Deion sent out some cryptic tweets about “the truth” and blah, blah, blah, flip it to read ’em.
