Jhené Aiko Says People Compare Her Music To A Younger Sade
Via Complex reports:
Jhené Aiko has been steadily working on her debut album, Souled Out, which is said to be coming soon. During her recent interview with Fader, Jhené spoke about the process of making the album, and some of the producers she collaborated with on the project. She revealed that she worked with No I.D., Key Wane, and more on the album, and that there are no hip-hop collaborations on it.
When talking about the sound of the project, Jhené said:
“A lot of people compare it to a younger Sade with urban stories. I always say, “Keep it pretty but I want you to be able to ride around to it in your car” and have respect for 808s and something that makes a beat. As far as the lyrics go, they’re super honest and on this album you’ll see me doing different things with my voice.”
