Poor Thang: Madge Denied Bid to Adopt African Child

A Judge ruled “hell no” in Madonna’s case to adopt another African child:

A Malawi judge has rejected Madonna’s bid to adopt another child from the African country, according to the AP. A judge and lawyer, speaking to the AP anonymously, reportedly said the bid was shot down due to a requirement that prospective parents live in Malawi for at least 18 month before they can adopt. A judge waived that rule when Madonna took her adopted son David with her to London in 2006. It is unclear why Judge Esme Chombo ruled differently this time.

Madonna’s attempt to adopt 3-year-old Chifundo “Mercy” James has created outcry amongst activists who claim the girl would be better off with relatives.

If Madge can afford to adopt another fascinating black child and give them a stable home with a privileged upbringing…why the eff not?

    hmmm….no more pets, great.

Good. This heffa needs to worry about getting her life together. Tired of these white folks using these african kids like accessories!

Material wise this girl would be set for life if Madonna was allowed to adopt her. Absent any type of physical or mental abouse worries on Madonna, think da Judge should have let the adoption go thru IMHO.

Somehow, I don’t think this is a “win” for the child. Yay, she gets to continue living in poverty worse than anywhere in the US. But, at least the white celebs care. Where are all the black celebs? Oh, yeah, they don’t care.

Awww that picture is sad!!! 😦

Nique, you fell to realize the whole point. F*ck Madona’s love life… She does not use these children as accessories, actually, she gives them the a well privaleged life that they could not afford otherwise. THE IGNORANCE DISGUST ME.

    Goodmorning my darlings!

Wow. Do they really thing a child living in an orphange is better off than with Madonna? This is really sad.

THAN WHY ISN’T SHE LIVING WITH THESE PEOPLE? Ugh, this decision was probably for more spiteful reasons vs. logical and practical reasons.

Morning honey!!! How was class yesterday???

If you can make a positive difference in a childs life…THEN DO IT! I’m not saying Madonna is the best person to do such a thing, but it damn sure is one of the better people to do it.

So I hear! Have you seen it? I’m really trying to wait until it hits theaters for aesthetic purposes…but every part of me wants to sneak and see it now 😉 Tough decisions, eh?

Girl, it was terrible. I managed to nod off in class with my eyes open. It’s always when you’re falling asleep that the teacher wants to look at you and call your name. How was your evening chile?

I wonder if this is the same judge that allowed her to have the first child she adopted. Thats what it seems like the article is saying. If it was the same judge the only reason he aint allowing her to have this child is because he caught so much flack from the first time he bent the rules for Madonna he does not want to go through that again. And the little girl will suffer in the end so the judge can save his own image. Thats how I see it.

In my opinion, yes these children are accessories for these celebs.Granted, they might have a way better life than what they would have but Madonna could never teach them about their history. She’ll never relate to “being black”. If she was really serious about improving their life-how about donating money, resources, and attention to the country. Help better the orphanages so that your not just helping one but alot of those kids.

  • PURPPLE, just call me TADOW

I don’t know old Madge from a can of methane…and judging by her daughters connecting eyebrows this was a good decision.

  • Jade Silver

    @PM – LOL.

I don’t see what the big deal is. If she can afford to give that child a better life then why not. I bet when this little girl is grown up she’ll blame them for this decision. Who would deny private schools, world travels and having your own bed.
