The casting calls are done and the final decision is in, Zendaya Coleman is playing Aaliyah in an upcoming Lifetime biopic. But not everyone is happy about that.

She can act, sing and dance and Zendaya has a great balance of maturity, poise and sass. We’re not mad she was chosen.
For the folks mad that Zendaya isn’t “black enough” there’s always Angel Haze, who shares Aaliyah’s slender frame and long locks. We haven’t seen her act yet, but she and her girlfriend Ireland Baldwin sure love being in front of cameras.

Singer Sabi is still somewhat of an undiscovered gem, but her videos and cameos have shown she might be capable to hold down a leading lady role. There’s definitely a resemblance there, oh and she can dance too.
She makes a convincing case as a look alike but we’re guessing there might be as much of an outcry over this Dominicana nabbing the role as there’s been for biracial Zendaya.
J Speezy has got the acting and singing chops and is giving us a real “Resolution” vibe on the cover art for her single “11:11/Wish.” But she’s also bi-racial. Is it that big of a deal?
