#TBT Part 3: 🙆🏽After #CouplesRetreat I really wanted to be in an #Apatow movie. The first one I got was #GetHimToTheGreek and the second was #Bridesmaids w/ #KristenWiig 🎎✨ When I read the script I loved it and wanted to be in it any way that I could. At the time, I remember many ppl were throwing #shade on 🌴"female-driven"🌴 comedy, wondering if it could work. 😎It worked, and not only became the highest grossing, #Oscar 🏆nominated female driven #comedy, but it opened the minds of people who didn't think that "women" could be #funny or open a film to huge box office. 👀 Kristen Wiig not only wrote the #film and starred in it, but she was also a #kind and generous #friend to everyone around. I learned a lot of things just being around her. 😯And working on #JuddApatow movie sets I saw that you could be the biggest producer in town and still be NICE, and make everyone feel good around you. The BEST people I've ever met seem to hold themselves to that standard of #compassion. 😇What a wonderful thing to learn so early on in my #Hollywood life! 🎬Stay Tuned for more #TBT and mark your calendars for #FiftyShadesOfBlack Jan 29!

When I moved to LA from #NYC ✈️ I was what some might've called "Pedestrian Pretty" #LOL I didn't own any #makeup 🎨 or hair extensions, and I never tanned. 😯The moment I got to LA I knew things were beginning to change when I had my mani/pedi done in NEON PINK 💅🙈 Suddenly, I was buying bikinis on #Hollywood Blvd and dancing in music videos 📺✨ An #actress friend & I were just #ROTFLOL about how the moment we got to LA we were just half-naked all the time 👯 getting paid to stand by a #pool 🏊 in some #movie or video🎶 #Modeling jobs, commercials and music videos helped me pay for the #acting classes💰 and materials I needed to become a real #actor, but I never expected I'd learn the most from those #music video sets. 🙆In that world of sparkling, bikini-clad women 👙 I saw miraculous transformations. A little spray-on tanner, baby oil gel, and some clip on #hair and anyone could be a vixen! 👧Somehow that gave me hope 🙏 that I too could apply a few tricks and become one of those hot people 🔥who would get hired for stuff all the time. 💁It totally worked, and eventually I was able to become an actor 🎬 and go back to being the makeup-free #nerd I was before, 😂but anytime I see a pic of myself from that time it always makes me LOL. Recently I saw @LilJon 😎and we had a laugh because he thought I stood out like a sore thumb in the video world 👍 (though I tried hard to fit in, and even tried to get into #King magazine, 😖but they told me my #butt was too small 🍑🚫). I guess in the end we all become whatever we're meant to, no matter how earnest we were about doing the wrong things. 😩Thank GOD! 🙊Now how am I gonna explain all these crystal-studded #bikini pics to my kids… 👶✨
