Celebrity Chef Lauren Von Der Pool Will Make You Want To Eat Vegan Everyday

Hip-Hop is healthy?
Hip Hop Is Green, an organization and national tour founded by health activist Keith Tucker, made two major announcements this month. The first was news New York City will be an official leg of the Hip Hop Is Green tour and the second was that “health and wellness” is now declared as the 10th element of Hip Hop.

The NYC kickoff is sponsored by Vegan Outreach, and will take place at various venues in Harlem on Earth Day weekend, from Thursday, April 21 to Friday, April 22, 2016.

We were excited to see the lineup for this weekend’s event includes several accomplished women, including Sa Roc, Tracy McQuirter, stic man’s wife Afya Iboma, Lauren Ornelas and DJ Cavem’s better half Alkemia. We were also thrilled to see vegan celebrity chef Lauren Von Der Pool listed as receiving the “10th Element of Hip Hop Health & Wellness Award” at the Ceremony Thursday.

If you’ve never heard of her before Lauren Von Der Pool is the author of “Eat Yourself Sexy.” She was also a chef on First Lady Michelle Obama’s obesity prevention campaign.

Chef Lauren Von Der Pool, a DC Native, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Los Angeles and Paris Culinary School, has worked closely with renowned chefs and celebrity clients such as Wolfgang Puck, Alice Waters, Dr. Sebi, Patti Labelle, Stevie Wonder, Common and more. Her A-list celebrity events include The Oscars, GRAMMY’s, Screen Actors Guild Awards, American Music Awards, Golden Globes, The Olympics, Wimbledon, The Congressional Black Caucus, BET Hornos, The ESPYs, MTV Video Music Awards, and countless movie premieres, as well as the personal chef for Venus and Serena Williams.
