“Basketball Wives” Star & Baller Ex Locked In Nasty Divorce

Retired NBA baller Speedy Claxton has headed to court to demand his estranged wife, “Basketball Wives” star Meeka Claxton, be punished for being in contempt of court for violating a court order in their nasty drawn out divorce battle.

The former couple announced they were separating in 2014 and Meeka released a statement saying, “I love Craig (aka Speedy) and our family more than anything.” They were married for more than 16 years and share two kids together.

Meeka filed for divorce in New York Court five months after she announced their split.

However, the divorce hasn’t been a smooth ride for the exes. Meeka demanded Speedy pay her temporary alimony and child support until the outcome of the divorce. The ex-NBA star demanded she be shut down by the judge and pleaded to not have to pay anything until the final order in the case.

Meeka was awarded temporary support, which Speedy immediately protested by pleading for the judge to reconsider his decision. He also wanted a subpoena squashed that his estranged wife had sent off – which is usually served upon an individual’s bank or financial institution to hand over records related to their finances.

Then recently, Speedy headed back to divorce court and filed a motion to punish Meeka for contempt of the court order. He is accusing his ex of violating the court order in the divorce and he wants the judge to punish her for breaking the rules.

The Ex-NBA star will have his day in court, with the trial in the case scheduled to go down next month.

The last couple years have been rough for both Meeka and Speedy. He lost a New York home in a foreclosure lawsuit after he defaulted on a $540,000 mortgage. And she was arrested for DWI in 2014 and earlier this year a judge ordered her to surrender the 2008 Range Rover she was driving when allegedly intoxicated.
