According to CNN, he’s currently being held in a Virginia jail in connection with the deadly crash that killed a 32-year-old woman and injured 19.

Fields is facing charges of suspicion of second-degree murder, malicious wounding, and failure to stop in an accident that resulted in death.

Authorities believe he’s the man that was seen ramming into a group of “Unite The Right” counter-protesters before reversing away from the scene.

Police have now confirmed that Heather Heyer was the woman killed in the crash. A paralegal with Virginia’s the Miller Law Group, Heather  wrote on Facebook; ““If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention,” prior to her death.

R.I.P. to this lady who dared to stand up to these white supremacist thugs.

How long before the suspect tells police that he had to injure these people because he “feared for his life?”

In addition to Heather, two police officials were killed as they monitored the protests via helicopter.

NBC News reports that pilot Lt. H. Jay Cullen, 48, of Midlothian, and Trooper-Pilot Berke M.M. Bates, 40, of Quinton, died at the scene of a helicopter crash southwest of Charlottesville.

So far no foul play is suspected but some folks aren’t completely convinced.
