Former “No Limit” Rapper Fighting For His Freedom Following Rape Allegations

Mystikal has pleaded with the judge in his rape case to lower his bond amount, arguing that he nor his loved ones have enough to post his $2 million bond, BOSSIP has learned.

The incarcerated rapper’s lawyer implored a judge this week to lower his $2 million bond because neither he nor his family and friends have that kind of money to put up, according to court documents.

The “Shake It Fast” rapper’s lawyer said his client said he is innocent, and he is willing to get an electronic monitor or go to rehab if needed in order to get out of jail. He also said his work as a rapper means that many people recognize him, so even if he tried to flee, he wouldn’t get very far.

Mystikal, who was born Michael Lawrence Tyler, turned himself into authorities Monday after cops issued a warrant for his arrest stemming from a 2016 rape complaint. The accuser said Mystikal, along with fellow rapper “Lil Hood” aka Averweone Holman, raped her after a concert in the Shreveport, La. area last year, according to police.

If Mystikal’s case goes to trial and he’s convicted, he could get the death penalty.

But in the meantime, it looks like the 1990s rapper will have to languish in the Caddo Parish jail for another month until his arraignment Sept. 26.

We reached out to his lawyer for comment.
