Woman Pleads Guilty To Incest After Marrying Her Mother

An Oklahoma woman who married her biological mother last September pleaded guilty to incest on Tuesday. Misty Velvet Dawn Spann (peep the name, you already know she’s up to something) was set for a jury trial, but instead decided to plead guilty in exchange for 10 years probation, according to Tulsa World. Her mother–and spouse, yuck–Patricia Spann will appear in court for the same charge in January.

26-year-old Misty Spann married her 44-year-old biological mother in March of 2016. Patricia lost custody of Misty and two other children when they were young, but it looks like she found a way to get her custody back in due time…

The kids were adopted by their grandmother, and didn’t have contact with their biological mother until they were adults, according to local TV station. The two women reconnected back in 2014, reportedly “hit it off,” and decided to get married. Patricia told officials she didn’t think marrying her daughter was illegal since her name is no longer listed on her daughter’s birth certificate, which is how they were able to get a marriage license in the first place.
