Shaq-Fu Is Making It’s Return Over 20 Years After The Original

Shaquille O’Neal’s 1994 video game Shaq Fu has long been a member of every Worst Games of All Time list. Instead of completely throwing the concept away after all these years, some saw promise in the idea, and a revival was successfully crowdfunded in 2014. People collectively donated over $450,000 into this cause 4 years ago, and if you were one of those generous people, your time is finally coming.

Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will be released for PC and consoles–including the Nintendo Switch–this spring.

The developers behind Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn announced today that the game, crowdfunded on Indiegogo in 2014, will be released sometime in the next few months. According to one report, the developers behind the Shaq Fu sequel encountered unspecified licensing issues; In addition to Shaquille O’Neal’s likeness, the new Shaq Fu promised “outlandish celebrity bosses,” which would bring about a lot of issues regarding permissions and such.

Even though the game was known to be pretty terrible when it was released initially, people still seem pretty excited about it’s reboot for nostalgia’s sake. Check out what Twitter had to say about the unlikely sequel.
