On Friday, The James Beard Foundation hosted its annual Media Awards, dubbed “the Oscars of the food world.” Winners were announced in the Media categories to the nation’s top cookbook authors, culinary broadcast producers and hosts, and food industry journalists. Nominees and guests gathered at an exclusive celebration dinner, hosted by Supermodel turned businesswoman and Emmy Award-winning television host, Tyra Banks at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in New York City.

While Tyra served as master of ceremonies, a plethora of talented presenters including, Samin Nosrat (Salt Fat Acid Heat), JJ Johnson (Chef and Author), Marcus Samuelsson (Chef and Owner Red Rooster Harlem), Amirah Kassem (Flour Shop NYC, Owner), Pati Jinich (Chef & TV Personality), Ruth Reichel (Notorious Food Writer), Michael Twitty (Author), and Sophia Roe (Chef & Influencer) entertained A-List food community guests in attendance including, David Chang, Alton Brown, and Sam Sifton, who accepted Publication of the Year Award on behalf of The New York Times and James Beard Foundation CEO Clare Reichenbach, Chief Strategy Officer Mitchell Davis, Board Chair Fred Seegal, and COO Kris Moon.  See more photos of your foodie faves by hitting that flip!
