Man Punches 4-Month Old Baby To Death After Discovering He Wasn’t The Father
According to Fox 13 Memphis, Jose Agurcia-Avila was arrested by Memphis police and charged with first-degree murder after punching a 4-month old baby.
Avila reportedly became upset after learning the child, Alexander Lizondro-Chacon, wasn’t his.
Cops say Avila punched the child so hard that the baby was left unresponsive when the mother returned home. The child was rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
An autopsy revealed the baby died from blunt force trauma and his death was ruled a homicide. The medical examiner concluded that the boy’s injuries were a fractured skull, fractured rib and a serious case of pneumonia.
The boy’s mother told police that Avila confessed. The 33-year-old is charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child abuse and first-degree murder in perpetration of aggravated child neglect.
