Tory Lanez’s Instagram Live is one of the biggest surprise spectacles of the past week or so. As we reported earlier this week, his IG Live broke the record for most views topping 310K thanks to his endless list of guests: Tory Lanez had Amber Rose, Bryson Tiller, Casanova, Chris Brown, Drake, Dreezy, French Montana, Gunna, Jacquees, Justin Bieber, Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, MTV, Roddy, Scott Storch, SHADEROOM, Steve Aoki, Trippie Redd, Trina, Weeknd, Wiz Khalifa.
However, it’s his latest guest who seems to have turned the internet on its head. That person is none other than French Montana’s DJ, DJ Duffey. She went from reality TV to DJing for Curren$y and now French. She is also renowned for her twerking skills.
Hit the flip to see more of this thickalicious lady and how she got to where she is now.
She played basketball at University of Texas at Arlington and was a Communication Technology Major while there. So she absolutely has some pretty good credentials as a hard-working woman even from back in the day.
She is a big Megan Thee Stallion fan. She has said she wants Meg to be her best friend, which would make for quite a twerk showdown for the ages. Can you imagine? Texas women just built different.
She grew up with a father who served in the military. Her family is full of college athletes. Her older brother played college football, her mother played college basketball, and her younger brother accepted an offer to play quarterback at Texas Tech.
There are always rumors she dated Drake, but that may be because he has always been such a big fan of her work. You know how that goes…every woman near Drake is rumored to be dating him.
She is engaged to NBA agent Iman Shokuohizadeh, and lives in a Dallas mansion with him and her son. Of course, people were asking about her fiancé when she showed up with Tory, but she is free to do what she damn wants.
She met Amber Rose while performing in Dallas and they hit it off. Amber took a liking to Duffey’s style and invited her to be the official DJ for the slutwalk.
The first mixtape she produced was called French Kiss 2, a greatest hits collaboration of French Montana tracks. They hit it off and now she DJs for him.
Here’s what she said about her Basketball Wives days for a Revolt interview:
“Since ‘Basketball Wives L.A.,’ I’ve gotten a lot more confident in myself because when you put yourself out there for the world to judge you, talk about you, and criticize you, you really have to build up a tough skin. That’s why I’m so unapologetically me now. So many people talk so bad about me being a twerking DJ and it literally doesn’t affect me.”
She was also one of Earl’s girls in last year’s Queen and Slim. If you blink you’ll miss her. She also auditioned to be Queen but didn’t get the role.
