Wizkid brought his “Energy” to ESSENCE fest on Sunday.

The Nigerian singer/rapper brought Afrobeats to New Orleans by running through his tracks including “Call Me Everyday” featuring Chris Brown, “Joro” and “Come Closer” before performing his verse on Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl.”

To cap off the evening he brought out Tems to poignantly perform “Essence” at ESSENCE Fest.

Ahead of Wiz whineing with Tems, the crowd was wowed by LiL Wayne who put on a surprise performance.

The Hollygrove hailer opened with “Mr. Carter” before performing “Fireman”, “A Milli” and more.

In between encouraging fans to make noise and say hello to his family that was in the building including Reginae Carter and Toya Rushing, Wayne emphasized the ESSENCE crowd’s importance.

“Must let you know three important things about myself before we go any further,” said Wayne. “Number one is, I know we all ain’t s*** without the love from above. Number two is, I know that I an’t s*** without you. Ya dig? Number three is a very important one if you don’t remember s*** about tonight, please remember number three. I ain’t s***t without you.”
