Papoose’s estranged ex Remy Ma previously put the relationship on blast after they had been together for some time. The champ offered to throw hands on principle once her name got dragged into their divorce drama. Shields proudly told the world about her man, her man, her man on IG, but initially kept their love on the low for another reason.

“It’s not that I wanted to keep him all to myself. I don’t mind people knowing we’re together, but I wanted to enjoy us without the eyes of other people judging,” she added.

Once the internet instigators chimed in, Shields saw conversations about whether they “upgraded” or “downgraded” from previous partners, “but that’s not what love is about! We both feel like we upgraded. It’s about being with somebody you really love,” she clarified.

“Pap is like my best friend. I talk to him about everything,” the boxing baddie bragged. “It’s clear to see that we do have a great connection. He understands me. We have a lot of real life conversations.”

Although they’re both busy building brands or throwing punches and punchlines, Papoose and Shields have a solid foundation. She reflected on the pressure other celebs face “doing everything for approval.” Meanwhile, Shields said it was just a matter of “I picked who I wanted, and he picked me. We built off that.”

Last week, Papoose showed up and showed out for Shields’ championship fight in her hometown of Flint, Michigan. He performed his hits like the “Touch It (Remix)” as he walked her into the ring to do her thing. From there, it was one for the history books as Shields won a unanimous decision over Danielle Perkins to become the first boxer with undisputed titles in three different weight classes. She currently has a 16-0 record with 3 knockouts

If Papoose has the GWOAT gushing like this, he must be doing something right!
