Candace Parker Sells $1.46 Million Los Angeles Home

Having won a pair of Olympic gold medals and college basketball championships, it’s safe to say that Candace Parker knows a thing or two about winning on the hardwood. But when it comes to her house in Los Angeles, the former Tennessee Volunteers star and WNBA MVP will have to chalk one up in the loss column.

Parker and her husband, former NBA-playing forward Shelden Williams, have sold their custom home in the Los Angeles community of Playa Vista for $1.46 million. The basketball couple originally listed the property at a loss in November for $1.5 million — $300,000 less than what Williams paid for the contemporary Mediterranean in 2008.

Built in 2007 and enhanced for those measuring 6 feet and up, the athletes’ home spans three stories and has four bedrooms, three full baths, and a pair of powder rooms. Much of its 3,700 square feet has dark hardwood flooring, and the master suite sports three walk-in closets, separate vanities and a custom walk-in shower bearing Parker and Williams’ initials.

Parker, 27, was back in Knoxville earlier this month, where she became the sixth Lady Vol to have her jersey retired to the rafters of Thompson-Boling Arena. The reigning WNBA MVP led Tennessee to back-to-back NCAA championships in 2007 and 2008, and was selected No. 1 overall by the Los Angeles Sparks later that year. Parker also plays for Ekaterinburg UMMC, a professional team in Russia.
