Niecy Nash and her wife Jessica Betts have made their first television appearance since tying the knot. The happy"HERSband" and wife were guests on Good Morning America and chatted with Niecy's good girlfriend Robin Roberts. The GMA anchor was apparently well aware of the two's love story and was part of the "tribe" that kept their relationship under wraps. While chatting with the ladies, Robin gushed that this is the "happiest she's ever seen" Niecy who gleefully agreed. The "Claws" actress also reiterated that marrying a woman isn't her "coming out" but her actually "coming in" to herself.
The happily married Betts are marking 30 days of marital bliss. Niecy Nash and her wife Jessica Betts took to social media Wednesday to celebrate being married for a month. In a clip that Niecy captioned, "30 days down.... forever to go, Feel free to unfollow if our happiness makes you mad 🤷🏽♀️," the actress and her spouse mocked haters who said that their union would fall apart.
Now Niecy's released a special behind the scenes video from their wedding. In it, you can see Mrs. and Mrs. Betts prepping for the big day before Jessica serenades Niecy at the altar. The two then share a special handshake and a sweet kiss. At their reception, the brides cut into a beautiful tiered cake and burned up the dance floor, before Jessica tossed Niecy's garter. If you look closely, you can see some of the wedding guests including Ava Duvernay, actress Aisha Hinds and LaLa Milan. Niecy made sure to note in her caption that her guests were tested for COVID before attending.
Details have surfaced about Niecy and Jessica's friendship that eventually turned into love. ET reports that the lovebirds have actually known each other for several years and "shared a special bond." "The two have shared a special bond that blossomed into love," the source says. According to Niecy Nash herself, she's a happily married woman again! The Claws star shocked fans today, August 31, of herself walking hand in hand down the aisle with songstress Jessica Betts. "Mrs. Carol Denise Betts," Niecy captioned a photo from her nuptials. "#LoveWins," she added with a rainbow emoji.
