The Investigation Of The 9-Year-Old’s Death Continues
More disturbing developments have surfaced in the case of Trinity Love Jones, the 9-year-old girl whose body was found in a duffel bag along a trail in California this month.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the mother of Trinity, Taquesta Graham, has been charged with murder in connection to Trinity’s death.
Graham has already been in custody without bail since March 8 for a warrant unrelated to Trinity’s death. She was extradited from Texas to California last week so that investigators could ask her questions about Trinity.
Graham’s boyfriend, Emiel Hunt, 38, was also charged with the murder of Trinity.
Authorities believe Hunt killed Trinity on March 1 then dumped her body on a Hacienda Heights trail. Her body was found five days later in a large duffel bag, and authorities were able to identify her thanks to an unidentified informant. The cause of Trinity’s death is still undetermined.
Investigators learned that Graham and Hunt have disturbing criminal histories. Court records reveal Hunt was convicted of felony child abuse in San Diego County in 2005 and was sentenced to 12 years in state prison. Meanwhile, Graham also has a prior conviction for involvement with a minor in prostitution.
If convicted in the Trinity case, Hunt can get booked with up to 55 years to life in prison. Meanwhile, Graham faces a maximum of 26 years to life in state prison if found guilty.
